No land for cattle colony in Plateau, says Berom group
A group, under the aegis of Berom Youth Moulders Association (BYM) yesterday said the Northern Senatorial zone of Plateau State does not have land for cattle colonies, adding that 54 Berom communities have been sacked because of the activities of killer herdsmen, saying 93 communities in total have been attacked since the killings started.
The Berom, predominantly found in the northern senatorial district of the state, stated this at a press conference in Jos, through its president, Choji Chuwang. “We wish to state in unequivocal terms that we do not have land for cattle colonies.
“We believe this is a sensitive matter that the Federal Government should handle with tact and all seriousness. The rearing of cattle is a private and personal business, which should be left in the hands of relevant stakeholders.”
