THE first female Pharmacist Professor in Pharmacognosy in Nigeria as well as the first Professor of Pharmacognosy at the University of Lagos, Olukemi Abiodun Odukoya, MAW, FPSN, FPCPharm, will today, June 30, 2015, in Lagos, be conferred Fellowship (FPCPharm) of the West African Post-graduate College of Pharmacists (WAPCP).

The WAPCP is the regional professional body of pharmacists.

At the 56th meeting of the Council of the WAPCP, Odukoya was elected Fellow of the College. By this election, Odukoya is entitled to insert after her name the prestigious acronym FPCPharm, representing Fellow of the Postgraduate College of Pharmacists.

Odukoya is the present dean, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Lagos (UNILAG), a recipient of many academic awards and professional fellowships and was also awarded a gold medal as the highest honour of academic excellence in research and innovation by the UNILAG in 2012. She has been a resource person on herbal medicine with the WAPCP and a certified member of WAPCP since 2003.
