NANS, Daniel condole with OOU students
The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) yesterday commiserated with the families of the 10 students of the Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State who lost their lives last Friday through an accident on the Lagos-Sagamu road.
The victims were said to have been on their way from their campus to Lagos when a container from a moving truck fell on the bus in which they were travelling. With the exception of one survivor all the passengers in the bus died instantly.
The NANS in a statement in Abeokuta yesterday commiserated with the deceased families, entire students and the University management for the “painful loss” and prayed that God would give them the courage to bear the loss.
“While we pray that God will strengthen all those close to the victims and the school management to bear the irreparable loss, we pray that God will stand by their immediate families at this moment of darkness in their lives”, the statement signed by NANS Vice-President, Mr Timileyin Gbenga stated.
Meanwhile former Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel has also commiserated with the parents, families and management of the University on the loss of the students.
Daniel, in a statement signed by his media aide, Mr. Ayo Giwa in Abeokuta described the incident as devastating and one received with personal pain and deep sorrow.
His words, “I feel saddened on the death of these brilliant stars who
were just coming into the world to express themselves. It is one sad event that is hard to comprehend”.
