GOVERNOR Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo of Gombe State has urged traditional rulers and community leaders to be alive to their responsibilities by exposing people with bad characters in their respective domains.

Dankwambo, who spoke at the first Dadiya Cultural Day (DIkulom) at Bambam Town of Balanga Local Council over the weekend, called on citizens of the state to be security conscious and report any suspicious person or group of people to security agencies.

The governor, who advised people of Dadiya community to maintain the prevailing peaceful co-existence, said: “Because without peace we will not be gathered here for this occasion, I am happy to note that there is remarkable improvement in the peaceful co-existence between Dadiya people and their neighbours within the state and outside the state.”

Dankwambo said that his administration has taken several steps to ensure the sustenance of peace in the area by stationing units of army and mobile police in the community to protect lives and property of the citizens.
