Against the backdrop of porous security in every sector of the country, Arit of Africa, a premier Information and Communications Technology (ICT) systems integrator and solutions provider, has tasked stakeholders on the need to be security conscious, insisting that every organization has everything to protect.

Speaking during the just concluded exclusive ‘Think Security’ Event which was held in collaboration with Cisco Systems, the Managing Director of the company, Mrs. Ronke Okeremi, explained that attacks on financial institutions are increasing daily and that the sector represents major target hence the need to tighten security loopholes and chart roadmaps for the way forward.

According to her, “Financial Institutions are more likely targets and hence more vulnerable. A lot of money can be lost, confidential information stolen as we have seen in the very recent cyber attack on the office of the Personnel Management in the US that led to millions of medical records being compromised and stolen. We as stakeholders now need to be proactive instead of the norm of being reactive.

This is why we as Arit of Africa, have taken the initiative as always, to address the issue.”

However, we have, after much internal deliberations and consultations, decided to partner Cisco in providing robust, efficient and cost effective security solutions. Cisco systems has proven over the years to be the best in terms of network infrastructure products and solutions, Okeremi said.

The Arit boss also hinted that unnecessary and unwanted attacks could be prevented, if proper security measures were taken. “Most of the individuals and organizations need to tighten their belts and sit tight. They need to rethink their security strategies, they need to stay secured because the attack can come from anywhere, it can be cyber or it can be physical like terrorism. Everybody has to think against these kinds of attacks by thinking always on – how do I protect myself?  You don’t just sit down and wait for the attack to come in, you need to look at the organizations that can help you to prevent these attacks because sometimes as is the popular saying – prevention is better than cure, she said.

We also offer the government physical solution service like close circuit camera amongst others, she added.
She further stated that the company has added IT consultancy to its other bouquet of solutions.

“Our focus is on security, we however provide other ICT solutions that optimize business processes thus ensuring competitiveness.
