Speaking at the ‘Cloud Day’, organised by Oracle Nigeria, which attracted customers, partners, stakeholders and government officials from various industries, Sanni stressed the importance of cloud computing and how the technology could transform today’s business.

According to the MD, “technology isn’t new in powering business, but is evolving constantly and rapidly. How businesses use this transformative technology will set them apart from their competitors.”
“The CEO focus should remain on innovation and agility to remain ahead of the competition and our focus is to remove the complexity, to simplify Information Technology (IT) and provide the most comprehensive cloud offering,” Sanni said.

During the event, participants had the opportunity to learn how to reduce risk and complexity in their businesses by using the most comprehensive, Secure Software as a Service ( SaaS ) , Platform as a Service ( PaaS ) and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) cloud offerings, that are provided by Oracle. They discovered ways to shorten the innovation cycle and accelerate time to market with boosted agility and increased reliability as well as how to transform their businesses with cloud computing.
“Today, the cost of technology is no longer considered an issue for any company that wants to use IT to drive business innovation. CEOs need to strive for agility irrespective of the size of their organisation, in order to remain progressive and forward-thinking, despite how they may perceive their company today in an ever-changing competitive landscape, and to have a team that is really focused on using IT as an innovation driver in every part of their business,” Sanni said.

He said the Enterprise Technology Challenge organised by the Co-Creation Hub, and sponsored by Oracle as a platinum sponsor, was designed to mobilise Nigerian software developers and designers to build innovative, locally appealing and relevant web and mobile apps that enable and support small and growing businesses in Nigeria. Teams, formed around the best ideas submitted for the challenge, leveraged technology and expertise from Oracle to develop and deploy their applications at a 48-hour rapid prototyping hackathon at the end of October 2015.
