Ndukwe named chief host @ BoICT lecture 2017

Communications Week Media Limited, organisers of Beacon of ICT (BoICT) distinguished lecture series is delighted that Dr. Ernest Ndukwe father of modern telecommunications in Nigeria and chairman of the Openmedia Group, has agreed to serve as the chief host of this year’s event holding April 22, in Lagos.

Dr. Ndukwe, one of Africa’s most sought after resource persons will be leading dignitaries to the event widely regarded as the most prestigious annual event available in the ICT industry in Nigeria.

According to Communication Week Media Limited, a certified global ICT company with over 20 million subscribers and publishers of Nigeria CommunicationsWeek; the BoICT distinguished lecture, now in its eighth year, is the largest gathering of ICT practitioner; regulators; financial sector under one roof.

Ken Nwogbo, MD/CEO, Communication Week Media Limited, said that Dr. Ndukwe as chief host is quite fitting as theme of the 2017 BoICT Lecture is “Empowering Youth Through Digital Citizenship”

According to Nwogbo, the theme leans heavily on the fact that Information and Communication Technology has become a vital player in the national development of modern society.

“And Dr. Ndukwe is a champion of both policy and regulatory reforms needed to fire the kiln of productivity in the country. He is a trail blazer and great lover of humanity, we are happy to have him”, Nwogbo added.The lecture series is reserved for distinguished achievers.

Past keynote lecturers include: Dr. Ernest Ndukwe, then EVC, Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC); Engr. Yomi Bolarinwa, former Director-General of National Broadcasting Commission (NBC); Dr. Jean Luc Fort, CEO at OR System France and a specialist in Counterparty Risk; and Professor Chris Nwagboso, Chairman, Knowledge Factory International, United Kingdom.

Others are: Uche Orji, managing director/chief executive officer, Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA); Biodu Omoniyi, Managing Director/CEO, VDT Communications; and Ayotunde Coker, Managing Director, Rack Centre Limited.
