MTN donates digital library to school
MTN Nigeria has donated a digital library to Junior Secondary School, Old Kutunku, Gwagwalada in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
The General Manager, Regional Operation (North), MTN Communications Nigeria, Adekunle Adebiyi, who led a team of the company’s employees to the school, noted that the world has gone digital adding that the digital library was aimed at encouraging the student to embrace ICT.
He stated that the company has spent about N11bn on social responsibility projects since it began operation in Nigeria.
He explained that every year, a particular percentage of MTN’s profit is dedicated to Corporate Social Responsibility.
Adebiyi said apart from the CSR activities carried out on behalf of the company by MTN Foundation, the firm also dedicated the first 21 days in the month of June to caring activities provided by its employees.
He said, “In the month of June of every year, MTN has dedicated the first 21 days to giving back to society especially in education. It is one of the key pillars we invest in. Health is another one. Twenty-one days of Y’hello Care is about going to the society where we operate to give back to selected schools.
