Huawei plans cloud transformation solutions
Chinese technology firm, Huawei said it has studied the Nigerian enterprise terrain and defined its cloud transformation agenda along four segmentations.
The firm, which unveiled the segmentation at the weekend, said the four segmentations include DC modernisation; internal Information Technology cloudification; telecoms business cloudification; and Business-to-Business (B2B) cloud service
The firm said traditional telecoms operators’ services were now considering the move into new generation business models, and carrier chief technology officers were considering different approaches for core and mobile businesses, as well as telecoms value-added services. It added that it was therefore, conceivable that carriers would take advantage of new cloud services and migrate telecoms operators value added services into cloud platform.
“This means that the future telecom core services or VAS services will be deployed like today’s Internet services and ultimately quicken service launch.
“Cloud B2B service is a new market opportunity for carries to sell IT resources as well as IT applications. Carrier chief marketing officers can approach different enterprise segments by understanding government policy on ICT such as Industry 4.0, Internet +, Industrial Internet or market solutions.
“Vertical cloud is suitable for local companies who demand local carrier service support, data localisation and data privacy. The CMO can use simple IaaS features with specific PaaS & SaaS applications to offer local companies self-service opportunities from their web portal to use IT on-demand, online and real time basis,” Huawei said.
