Enthusiastic customers who have been thronging Globacom’s flagship sale outlets since the launch of Nigeria’s first nationwide 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) network last week have saluted the company for its game-changing strides in the telecommunication industry.

The subscribers poured encomiums on Globacom for investing massively in the country and making the 4G LTE service available in different parts of the country.

Since the launch of the service, a lot of customers have been trooping to Globacom’s shops to experience what the network called, “The new speed of life”.

Mohammed Aliyu, a secondary school teacher said he loved the flexibility of the offerings. He said he had initially thought the service would be expensive, but was pleasantly surprised that virtually anyone who can afford to buy a smartphone can buy a 4G data bundle.

Njideka Okafor, an information technology specialist in Maitama, Abuja said: “I can certify that 4G is a lovely experience. The speed is phenomenal. And the indoor penetration is excellent. I have the signal in every part of my house. I was also among the first to upgrade my other line to 4G on another network. But the indoor penetration was poor and the phone only worked best near the front windows, ” she said.

A lawyer based in Port Harcourt, Titus Ojemba described the speed of the service as ‘incredible’. He said he was simply “wowed by the speed” and hope Glo can get this service to every nook and cranny of Nigeria soonest.

Globacom formally launched Nigeria’s largest 4G LTE network at its head office in Victoria Island, Lagos on Tuesday. The launch took the advanced mobile technology to the six geo-political zones of the country.

Prominent among the locations where the service is now live are Lekki, Ikoyi, V.I, Ajah and Akoka in Lagos, In Port Harcourt, the service is available in Aba Road, Trans Amadi, Diobu, Old GRA and UNIPort, The service is also already live in Warri, Eket and Benin, In Abuja, the service is in Maitama, Wuse, Asokoro, Garki/Central Business District and Airport Road. Similarly, the service has been launched in Jos, Yola – ABTI and Zaria- ABU.

Globacom has also assured its teeming subscribers that it’s superior 4G LTE which it said offers the fastest internet speed because of the advanced network deployed, will soon be live in other locations across the country.
