Dell EMC, Mitsumi partner on product distribution

DELL EMC has closed a distribution deal with Mitsumi Distribution Limited, one of the largest and fastest Information Technology (IT) distributors in Africa.The deal authorises Mitsumi Distribution to supply the entire EMC portfolio which includes Dell EMC’s ISG Storage Products, ISG Network-attached storage Products.

Speaking during the Dell EMC, Mitsumi launch, in Lagos, the Regional Product Manager, Mitsumi, Sujal Desai, explained that the closed deal, demonstrated Dell EMC confidence in Mitsumi ability to help grow its brand across the country and Africa.He said: “Mitsumi started its operation in Nigeria more than 10 years ago. We have been distributing Dell product. Fortunately now that Dell acquire EMC, we are also made the distributor of EMC all portfolios in Nigeria as well as in Ghana.”

Desai while explaining what distinguished Mitsumi from other competitors in the market argued that Mitsumi would bring in technical and after sale support which is lacked in the market pointing out that over the years the company invested heavily in its team and business to ensure they have the correct skill sets in place to drive growth and capture the market share.

“There are other distributors who are our competitors in the market but what we are bringing in is technical support because we have trained staff that can do that. There so many partners here in this country, they want to do the business of EMC, they want to supply the EMC portfolio but they don’t have particularly the support from the sales side, service side and pre-sale side. So, Mitsumi is covering the whole company portfolio with the support of after sale service as well. So, we have the pre-sale team basically here in Nigeria as well as technical teams.”

The Regional Product Manager, also said pointed out that Mitsumi help the customers or potential customers to understand their requirement and also show them how, Dell EMC solutions would give them the success they seek by identifying for them the best solution that suite them.

“The difference between Mitsumi and other competitors in the market is while other might be recommending the users expensive solution where it is not really needed. We don’t do like that, we help the customers to start with the basic solution and thereafter upscale it. That is the beauty of EMC technology, you can start with the minimum requirement and you don’t need to every time change the technology, you can upgrade as in and when required”, he explained.
