Throughout the 2017 and 2018 athletics season, Praise Oghenefejiro Idamadudu was one of the most reverend home-based female athletes. She was almost the sole reason why many Nigerians cared about track and field business following her landmark achievement both in local and international competitions.
It was thrills and glamour at the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) Classics in Ado Ekiti at the weekend, as Enoch Adegoke secured victory ahead of Ogho-Oghene Egwero in the men’s 100m final, winning in 10.50s. Egwero finished second in 10.55s with Idjesa Uruemu coming in third with a time of 10.62s.
Nigeria's fastest home-based athletes over the 100m last year, Enoch Adegoke, and Joy Udo-Gabriel, will seek to extend their dominance of the event in the local circuit in Akure, Ondo State, where the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) All-Comers competition will hold this weekend.
