Pastor Lazarus Muoka

It is very unfortunate to see in today’s Christendom people who came to walk in the fear of God but deviated and are now walking away from the fear of God. Many that are walking in the house of God are now walking away from God and closing rank with the devil.

These strayed brethren speak anyhow and can do anything including lying, stealing, indulging in hatred, pride, contention, strife and bitterness. Yet, they claim to be walking in the fear of God. Some of them claim to be holy but are into malice, immoral life and secret sin, while others are covetous and still claiming to be children of God. Are you like them and still claim to be a child of God? I want to let you know that what you are doing is an indication that you don’t have the fear of God.

Many of these people deviated from the course of their Christian duty as soon as they were given positions of authority. This class of people no longer accord due respect to the General Overseer. They do not respect the Church’s authority or listen to preaching/sermons during worship and they exhibit negative attitudinal syndrome of ‘do you know who I am?’ They can be spotted among other brethren boasting that they are the chairman of the disciplinary Committee, members of the church council, the Church Administrator, heads of the international outreach group or senior Pastors with anointing, etc.

The meaning behind the bragging is to let you know that they are now above the law and should be allowed to do what they like. At this juncture, they can lie, commit fornication, adultery, sell or convert to their own use the church’s property without any remorse because their hearts are sealed. But little do they know that they are walking away from God’s perfect Will and grace. These people murmur, complain and are angry at anything done by the church that is not in their favour. But the Bible said God is not a respecter of person and will never take position in place of holiness.

Acts 10:34-35 says, “Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, “of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: 35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.”

There is no favoritism with God, even when it has something to do with ecclesiastic distinction. God will not save a man because he has a position in the Church, is rich, or learned. Nor will He exclude any man because he is destitute of these privileges, but His respect in every nation is for those who fear Him and are conscious of righteousness and holiness. No man’s work will be exchanged with holiness, and righteousness.

If as a believer you are not mindful of your salvation because you are holding a position, I want to let you know that God has principles, and no matter your work as a pastor, usher, intercessor, interpreter or choir leader, no matter what you are doing as an administrator, disciplinary leader, or regional coordinator, it cannot be exchanged for holiness without which you can’t enter into God’s Kingdom.

So, many believers are only mindful of the work they are doing, but not mindful of the lifestyle they are living. But the truth is that the fear of God and works of righteousness are the substance of true religion. The standard of God is peace and holiness without which no eye shall see Him. If you are claiming to be walking in the fear of God but are not mindful of your lifestyle, I urge you to repent today and turn to holiness, so that at the end of it, heaven at last will be your portion in Jesus name.

Matt. 7:21-22 “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? And in thy name have cast out devils? And in thy name done many wonderful works?”
