Great leaders care more about the whole person, not only about his role as an employee. Thus, motivators are social leaders who care more about achievements. Which is why modern leaders rely on an array of habits to help their team accomplish great things.

One, leaders promote purpose because of its motivational powers. Purpose helps employees learn what to contribute to their business. Research finds that purpose-oriented workers stay with their companies 20 per cent longer, are 50 per cent more likely to be in leadership positions, 47 per cent more likely to promote other people’s work and have high levels of fulfillment in their work by 64 per cent. Promoting purpose helps employees find lasting joy in their work.

Two, it is the habit of leaders to reinforce relatedness. Our brains are wired to think about relationships. Neuroscientists call it “default network.” Default network automatically activates and drives us to think about relationships. Human history reveals that we are driven by ambition to develop relationships. Relatedness is finding meaningful relationships with groups of people. Relatedness bolsters our sense of precinct fellowship and belongingness. Satisfying interactions with colleagues motivates us to do our best at work.

Three, being a motivating leader is knowing what motivates people. Therefore, you must purposefully learn what motivates individuals on your team. Then, spend time tailoring your leadership style to get the best performance from each person. Some people are motivated by promotion while others find meaningful work more important.

Four, cultivate an optimistic climate for lasting relationships. Your leadership style will have great impact when you craft a climate that feels optimistic and enthralling. That is what great leaders do. They create an environment that gives people good things which come from their hard work.

Five, an optimistic climate promotes a positive identity. Work shapes how you feel about yourself. If you enjoy your work, you will positively contribute to the public good. Alternatively, help promote a positive identity in your employees by making them understand the effects of optimism on their work and business. Encourage your employees by appreciating their accomplishments and contributions. That improves the productivity of the workers and the profit of the company.

Six, create clarity in your relationships. Help your teammates to clearly understand the team’s goals. Constantly communicate work priorities. Help teammates prioritize their work. Also, give feedback to your employees, let them know what they are doing well and what needs to change. Have regular conversations about the team’s purpose.

Seven, support work for life policy, you must have an anti-workaholic policy. This is designed to promote workers making time to do things they enjoy outside of work. The reason behind this belief is that employees who are satisfied with their personal world perform better in their professional roles. Show you care about a positive mix between your employee’s personal and professional world.

This shows you are mindful of their life outside work. Such ways are highly motivating. As a leader, you work tirelessly to inspire people. You must be selfless, results driven while as a leader you must focus on the soft side of business so as to create positive results. At the same time, this is done to create a meaningful work experience. What makes influential leaders successful is that they are focused on the pursuit of excellence. Great leaders speak only when they have something important to say, and never bore people with idle banter.

Influential leaders welcome disagreement, they don’t wait for new ideas and new technologies to find them, they seek them out. They anticipate what’s coming. They see what is coming because they intentionally look for it. They expect the best. They believe in their own power to achieve their dreams. Moreover, they believe others have the same power to achieve their dreams. To increase your influence, you must freely share your skills and insights, and be passionate in your pursuit of a greater tomorrow.
