Real men pray

The potency of fervent prayers is awesome. We must know and understand the place of prayer in our lives, families, business, spiritual soundness and relationship with God. Prayerlessness is lethal.

Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. James 5:17

The potency of fervent prayers is awesome. We must know and understand the place of prayer in our lives, families, business, spiritual soundness and relationship with God. Prayerlessness is lethal.

Some men have left praying to their wives or mother, which is why so many homes are in trouble and chaos because the men that are supposed to be watching are sleeping, their eyes are heavy with sleep, therefore, they cannot wave off the attack of the enemy.

Have you considered that so many troubles in families would have been avoided if men are at their watchtower of prayers? Some men’s eyes are heavy with sleep like the disciples Jesus took with Him to the Garden of Gethsemane. Some of our men’s eyes are heavy with the sleep of cares of this world and sin.

Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me. Matthew 26:38

And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour? Matthew 26:40

Our families can be better and at peace if only we can take our rightful place in our homes and careers. This is an age where many are not ready to pay the price of greatness, honour and leadership. Let us bend the knees for our homes, children and society. There is no question about whether God will answer or not. The Bible tells us God is ready to help. He is a very present help in times of need and trouble. The challenge is, are you ready to pray or you are looking for a miracle without prayer; spiritual intervention without prayer and study of the word?

Many people want to harvest fruits without planting a tree. Somebody said there are four ways to be rich: Beg, steal, borrow, or by labour. Which one do you want? If you do not want the first three, you must labour in prayer and in your business.

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Psalm 46:1

I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved. Habakkuk 2:1

If God will help and remove shame from us, we must work while it is a day, mind our father’s business, keep away from wrong partners and pray. Many times we are too weak to pray because our hearts are filled with wrong words. It is sad to say, but many men’s lives are burdened and weighed down by the negative influence of the world. They accept failure easily because they have allowed their faith to become weak and their spirit to grow faint from the negativity around them. Of course, it would be wrong to deny that we live in a negative world and a world full of trouble but we are a people of the covenant.

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. 1 Peter 5:8-9

Often, we leave God out of our situation and play the blame game. Somebody said: “When you are too weak to pray, pray until you can.” The time you do not feel like praying is when you should pray the more. To be ready to pray is to be ready to receive from God. God is a rewarder of them who diligently seek Him. Readiness is the key to receiving from the storehouse of God – mercy, grace, help, etc.

… But Hezekiah prayed for them, saying, The good LORD pardon every one That prepareth his heart to seek God, the LORD God of his fathers, though he is not cleansed according to the purification of the sanctuary. And the LORD hearkened to Hezekiah and healed the people. 2Chronicles. 30:18b-20

Men must pray for their homes, business and church: weep between the altar and cry for God’s mercy. We must arise and shine. To fully receive all that God has for you and family, you must prepare your heart to seek God, pray and pay the price.
