When it comes to filmmaking and music videos, there are people that know their onions. Through hard work, focus and passion, award-winning Nigerian filmmaker and cinematographer, Oluyinka Davids, took baby steps and today 15 years down the line, he has soared to become one to be reckoned with.

The United States-based filmmaker, who has successfully produced and directed a lot of projects both in Nigeria and abroad, says he loves his job.

“It has been an interesting journey not without hurdles, but I scaled through and still trying to be the best that I can be. I will continue to contribute my quota to the industry.

“I love telling stories that enlightens and teaches lessons. I also want to tell stories that pushes people to think and make a change,” he said.

Sharing his thoughts on the Nigerian film industry, he said it is growing and our films are becoming more recognised globally. “Nigerians are resilient and great talents abound in the country. Locally and internationally, our people are doing exceedingly well, not only in the film industry, but in all spheres of life.”

While giving insight into the new movie, ‘Akwuna’, Davids informs that it is an expository film that talks about the things Nigerians go through abroad to survive.

He said that he was glad to work with a great team. “Both cast and crew are professionals and carefully selected to make it a success. The film promises to be an interesting and captivating one. I am working on other laudable projects, which will be unveiled later,” he stated
