In Genesis Chapter l2 verse 1, God told Abram to leave his country, his relatives and his father’s home to the land He was going to show him. Abram was 75 years old when God spoke to him, and he obeyed God but took Lot, his brother’s son along, which was contrary to God’s will. God called him in order to enter into a covenant of blessing, fruitfulness, and multiplication with him.

God decided to separate Abram to himself and singled him out for blessing, but when Abram took Lot along, God could not talk to him for 25 years, because Abram’s relationship with God was personal, and Lot was not included.

In our text, the Bible says quarrel broke out between Lot’s herdsmen and those of Abram. God allowed this to happen in order to separate Lot from Abram to enable Him to fulfil His plan.

Many people have forfeited their blessing because of the family or place they come from or where they reside, the relationship they keep and business associates or partners. The Bible says,

“Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you” (2 Corinthian 6:17) This is a personal invitation to those willing to obey God and thereby enjoy the benefit of Father and child relationship.

Prayer point: Father, please let your Mighty power separate from me every one that stands as Lot, to prevent me from getting divine blessing in the name of Jesus.
