Living for Christ – Part 2

By Pastor Lazarus Muoka

Beloved, anyone who wants to live a Christ designed lifestyle, a life aimed to be with God in heaven and a life befitting a representative of our Lord Jesus Christ must be holy. This is because holiness is what distinguishes the Children of God from the Children of the world.

1Peter 1:15-16 says, “But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; 16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.”

Beloved, anyone who wants to live a Christ designed lifestyle, a life aimed to be with God in heaven and a life befitting a representative of our Lord Jesus Christ must be holy. This is because holiness is what distinguishes the Children of God from the Children of the world.

God commanded as many as wish to live for Him to be holy in all areas of life, including in words, thoughts, action, disposition, comportment, dressing and heart. Such a person must be prepared to tolerate and accept what our Lord Jesus did while He was on earth. The person must be known to be benevolent in all his dealings.

Acts 10:38 says, “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.”

If you are living for Christ, your life must be characterised with doing good works and allowing God to have preeminence in all things you find yourself doing in this life.

Living for Christ makes you His ambassador. And as an Ambassador, you are expected to rise to honour as your Master and do those things that are committed to your charge, which is preaching of the gospel in season and out of season, giving assistance to those that are weak, declaring the will of the Father and delivering the oppressed.

Since Christ came to reconcile men with God, you have a duty as an Ambassador to press upon people the doctrine of reconciliation and to use all godly arguments to persuade them to become reconciled unto God.

When you live for Christ, you are bound implicitly to obey the instructions of heaven, which is now your sovereign state, and do only what your sovereign King would do if He is present. Those that live for Christ are sent to do what He would do if He were physically present. They are to make known, explain, and enforce the terms on which God is willing to be reconciled to men. They are not to negotiate on any new terms, nor change those which God has proposed, nor follow their own plans or devices; but shall simply urge, explain, and enforce the terms on which God is willing to be reconciled with men.

Of course, they are to seek the honour of the Sovereign King Who sent them forth and to seek to do only His will. It is important to note that those living for Christ do not promote their own welfare, seek honour, dignity, or emolument. But their duty is to transact the business, which Christ would engage in if He were physically on earth.

It follows therefore that their office is one that demands great responsibility, for respect should be given to them as the ambassadors of the King of kings. Whatever they say is regarded as the message of God, because it is always assumed that it is God Who speaks. Of course, the gospel message is God speaking to men, and entreating them because He wants them to be reconciled.

So, if you are to live for Christ, you are supposed to have reconciled with God, and must have given up your opposition, and submitted to the terms of mercy. Most importantly, you must have laid aside your hostility, abandoned your sins, and convinced that you are in fact reconciled to God.

Luke 19:13 says, “And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.”

The Lord calls you into the office of discipleship to be worthy ambassadors until He returns to rapture the prepared people for the prepared place called heaven. You must, therefore, occupy your duty post until He comes to reward your work.

The essence of the talents given to you was solely to use it to expand the Kingdom of God before His second coming.
2Cor. 5:20 says, “Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.”

We must understand that all born again believers are representatives of our Lord Jesus Christ, hence we are known by the name ‘Christian’ i.e. Christ-like. Therefore, if your lifestyle is not in accordance with the will of God, not in conformity with the lifestyle of our Lord Jesus Christ, it shows that you are not a Christian and not living for Christ. And if you must be perfect as He wishes us, then we must endeavour to be like Him as recorded in Luke 6:40 which says, “The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master.” And so my beloved, as many who are reading this message should try to live their lives for Christ if their claims are that they are Christians.

Matt. 5:13-16 says, “Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt has lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. 14 Ye are the light of the world.

A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”

Brethren, Christ is light and those living for Him are the ones who make this world tasteful. They are the ones who provide light in a dark world. Their kind of lifestyle and the good work they engage themselves to demonstrate the light of God in this world.

As light dispels darkness and enables a man to see his way, so those living for Christ, by their teaching and example, remove ignorance and prejudice and disclose the way of life. And Jesus Christ while on earth went about doing good, so also should those who are living for Christ do because believers are enjoined to copy our Lord Jesus Christ so that God will be glorified before others.

Wonderful Work Of God
My Experience In The Land Of The Dead And God’s Deliverance
Ez. 37:3, “And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord GOD, thou knowest.”

When God asked Prophet Ezekiel whether it was possible for dead and dried bones to be alive again, the Prophet’s response implied that humanly speaking, it was not possible. But faith leaves the question of possibility to rest with God, with whom nothing is impossible. It is true that no created power can restore human bones to life except God.

My name is Walima Adams. I am from Ankpa Local government area of Kogi State. I was in the other religion before I got converted. And when this happened, I was disowned by my kith and kin. At that time, I felt very lonely like one in the desert, but I thank God for making me not only a Christian but also a Chosen. Some years after my conversion and due to intense persecution, I relocated to Onitsha in Anambra State.

Our church organised a two-day crusade. After the crusade, I boarded a bus to my house and alighted at the bus stop near my street. From there, all I remember was that I was trying to cross to the other side of the road and suddenly there was a big truck speeding towards me, and I felt touched by an object. It was after this that I found myself on a journey that had no beginning or end. In that trance-like situation, I was ushered into a very magnificent and beautiful palace. Later, I was taken to another place of serenity and uncommon comfort, where I was put on a royal seat.

After staying for sometimes in that wonderful, comfortable place, another mansion was shown to me and I was taken there. In that mansion, a personality came to me from His own royal seat and at that juncture, what I remembered was that I found myself in a setting like a conference hall, with many people from different races seated there. In this place, I was led as Jesus before Pilate and was asked to speak. Before I could open my mouth, I heard the voice of our Pastor saying in his usual parlance, “You-see-you”. Suddenly, the whole situation looked like we were in a church praising the Lord, and I was supposed to give testimony of the Lord’s doing in my life. I heard my Pastor’s voice the third time, ‘You-see-you.’ That was the last word I heard and saw myself physically opening my eyes.

The moment I opened my eyes wondering whether I was in a dream or not, I felt a terrible pain in my body. It was as if all the pain in the world was on me. I started crying. In this condition, I struggled to stand up. But to my chagrin, I discovered that neither my legs nor hands were responding to my impulse. It was at this juncture that sympathisers physically held and calmed me on the sickbed. They informed me that I was involved in an accident. All this while, I never knew I had an accident. They began to tell me the story, that a truck crushed me five days ago and that immediately after that, the people at the scene believed I had died. As such, the truck driver, who assumed he had killed somebody, tried to escape.

Meanwhile, my body was hung on the wheel of his truck, while my broken head was on the ground with my brain spilled from my skull. The scar where my skull was stitched is still there. As the truck driver was trying to escape, he came to a roadblock manned by FRSC officials, who apprehended him. They took him to the Police station and charged him for hit and run. I was taken to the mortuary. In the first mortuary, the people that took me were told there was no vacancy. It was the same story at the second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth mortuaries, all located in different areas of the city.

At the last mortuary, while they were contemplating what to do with my lifeless body, one of the doctors drove in and came to the scene. When the doctor used his stethoscope to check if there was still life in me, to the glory of God, he told the people that there was still life in me. He advised that I should be taken quickly to a bigger hospital. That was how I found myself in the emergency ward of St. Charles Borromeo Hospital, Onitsha. When I looked around, I didn’t see any of my Christian brethren. I thought I had been deserted and started crying. At that point, what came to my mind was, ‘Oh my Christian brothers have also rejected me.’ But I came to realise later that they were looking for me, as no one knew I had an accident.

In the end, the brethren got to know what happened to me and were of great assistance. Recently, General Overseer invited me to Lagos. Upon my arrival in Lagos, he prayed for me, blessed me and immediately I began to gain the appetite I lost more than a month, which made me look like a skeleton.

All this while, I was confined to a wheelchair until last Thursday’s counseling and deliverance service, where Pastor preached on the theme: ‘That Pharaoh Must Die.’ During the deliverance ministration, Pastor mentioned my case. Lo and behold, I was able to get up from the wheelchair that had been my companion for more than eight months and walked to the pulpit. Now, I am healed and can walk with my legs unaided.

Praise the Lord.
