Kingdom heirs – Part 2

As heir to the kingdom of God, you will need to attain spiritual maturity to be able to possess your possessions. (Gal 4:1-3)

Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all; But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father. Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world.

Though we have become jointed heirs with Christ, once we believe and accept Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Saviour, we may be suffering from different forms of afflictions, which are the elements of bondage, just because most of us are still babies in the spirit. We will need to grow up to begin to enjoy our inheritance, which is rightly belonging to us. Everything on earth in their good state as God has created them belongs to us.

The Bible says in (Psalms 24: 1) The Earth is the Lord’s, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. No matter what might have happened around us, it does not change the fact that the whole world and everything in it belongs to God and we has a right to it as the heirs to God’s properties. To grow in the spirit means to outgrow the desires of the flesh, which are corrupting our soul and hindering us from taking our rightful inheritance in God’s Kingdom, which is incorruptible. (1Pe 1:4) To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you.

When you grow to be incorruptible, you will be able to access your preserved inheritance in heaven. 1Co 15:50. Now, this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the Kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. No wonder our Lord Jesus said when teaching us to pray, asked for the kingdom of heaven to come down to us on Earth that we may begin to enjoy the will of God as it is in heaven. Though this could happen by Faith, a living and active faith that can pull down your heavenly inheritance come not only by hearing the word of God but by continually meditating on it that we may be doers of the word also. It is the works of faith that truly determine how grown we have become in the spirit (Jam 2:14, 17)

What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man says he hath faith, and have not worked? Can faith save him?
Even so, faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Now the works of faith are manifested in the fruits of the spirit.

(Gal 5:22 – 23) The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. But for you to grow spiritually, you need to kill the works of the flesh. (Gal 5: 19 – 20) The works of the flesh are adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envy, murder, drunkenness, revellings, and such like; of which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. Check yourself and see how much of the fruits of the spirit do you have, as against the works of the flesh. This will determine the level of spiritual growth you have attained.
