Victory is sure

Text: Exodus 14:9-14, “But the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them encamping by the sea, beside Pi-hahiroth, before Baal-zephon. And when Pharaoh drew nigh, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and, behold, the Egyptians marched after them; and they were sore afraid: and the children of Israel cried out unto the Lord. And they said unto Moses, Because there were no graves in Egypt, hast thou taken us away to die in the wilderness? Wherefore hast thou dealt thus with us, to carry us forth out of Egypt? Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness. And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen today, ye shall see them again no more forever. The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.’

BRETHREN, many people all over the world today are entrapped in one problem, or the other, in one bondage, or the other. So many people all over the world are serving various prison terms, some of them as a result of no fault of theirs. Some other persons are being pursued by their enemies with the sole aim to overrun and imprison them, while some others have been arrested and are awaiting trial. In the same vein, some nations, states, towns villages, families, and organisations are victims of this arrest, bondage or imprisonment by the enemy.

This arrest/imprisonment by the enemy comes in different ways, and dimensions. For the individual, it could come as a failure in business, failure in academics, sickness and diseases or any kind of problem of life. While for the nation/states, it could come as famine, economic recession, upsurge in crimes, political instability wars, etc.

Whichever is the case, by the reason of this message, God is assuring us of victory in all ramifications. The Israelites were in prison/bondage in Egypt for more than four hundred years. During these periods, they suffered series of torment under the supervision of Pharaoh and his agents. But a time came when God decided to release them from their prison, there was no power that could stop them from getting victory.

Not even Pharaoh nor his magicians with all the magical powers in Egypt could stop their victory. God manifested his power, and dealt decisively with Pharaoh, who hitherto was believed to possess powers that cannot be subdued. In the face of resistance, God dealt with him, subdued him and his magicians, and gave victory to the people of Israelites.
