The chairman, Board of Trustees, Trinity University, Pastor Samuel Olatunji, has enjoined Christians to continue to promote unity as commanded by the Lord Jesus Christ. He said adherence to the instruction would yield unprecedented achievement.

At the Special Thanksgiving Service in Lagos to celebrate the licensing of Trinity University by the Federal Government, Olatunji noted that the university’s emergence was an evidence of the spirit of oneness in Christ, which dated back to the 90s, when Trinity International College was founded by the BoT and has remained steady in its progress in the academic field.

He said: “In the 90s, the condition of the education sector in our country displayed worrying signals of decay in terms of quality of curriculum and content, as well as competence and character. The decline was alarming.

“Realising that lamentation would not solve the problem, about 25 years ago, we decided to establish a secondary school and later primary in our own style, which would inculcate into our pupils not only academic excellence, but also morals and character.”

Olatunji said the school’s achievement led the BoT to establish Trinity University to replicate the success of the primary and secondary schools.

He disclosed that the licence was collected in February, and that the university academic session would commence in April 2019 with students who passed JAMB Jamb and make the university their first choice.

He said: “We have basically two faculties made up of Sciences, Arts and Social, as well as Management Sciences in 15 different programmes and degrees for a start. We shall be adding more programmes. The difference we intend to make is to ensure students work for credible certificates and not just reading by cramming or cheating.”
