Three keys to your elevation – Part 2

To cease from man could mean, cease from man’s sympathy, friendship and encouragement. The best of men can fail us. If you want to get to your destination, cease from man.

To cease from man could mean, cease from man’s sympathy, friendship and encouragement. The best of men can fail us. If you want to get to your destination, cease from man.

• Focus On The Faithfulness Of God
The Lord is faithful. He cannot promise and fail to perform. God says of you: “I will not forget thee” (Isa. 49:15). It is not in the character of God to forget His promises nor forget His own. Yes, He may leave you long without succour. He may allow you to toil till the fourth watch of the night. He may seem silent and tarry two days as if He is careless of you dying like Lazarus. He may allow your prayers to accumulate like unopened letters on the table of an absent friend. But at last He will say, “O man, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as you desire.” So cease from man and focus on the faithfulness of God.

• Wait For God
One art we all must develop is the art of waiting for God. Many a times we are too hasty and so impatient. This is a great mistake. Everything comes only to those who can wait. But waiting for God includes waiting on God. The Bible says that those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength. (Isa. 40:31) Even when you cannot see your dreams being fulfilled, wait for God. Even when every door seems shut, wait for God. Even when the years are passing over you with the depressing sense, wait for God. Never fall for the temptation to go ahead of God. Rather, turn your ears to God; accept His will; and let Him Know that you surrender to Him the realisation of your dream. “Wait on the Lord, and keep His way. (Psa. 37:34, Isa. 30:18) He may keep you waiting a little longer; but you shall find Him faithful and trustworthy. Therefore, wait for God and make sure you wait on Him.

Conclusion
No doubt we all are often tempted to depend so much on men for our elevation forgetting that no man can help us unless God has sent him. Also, no man can help us or raise us beyond his capacity. But if his capacity is below what God wanted to do for us, such a man might disappoint us.

The saying is true; every disappointment with man can become an appointment with God. If the butler had remembered Joseph, he wouldn’t lift him up beyond his capacity. His remembrance can never make him the Prime Minister. Therefore, if you want to reach your divinely planned elevation, cease from man, focus on God’s faithfulness and wait for God. (Psa. 3:3, James 4:10) You will soon reach your promised land. Jesus will not desert His own. Shalom!
