This apprehension shall be turned to joy

Truly, it seems that we are being held in a state between two or more forces, which are acting in opposition to each other. Our country is besieged and our conscience is overwhelmed. But no matter how dicey the situation may be, we have assurance from God that He will never leave us nor forsake us. (Heb. 13: 5). We must hold on to this divine promise regardless of what our condition appears to be, for God wishes us well and would turn whatever situation to our good.

One thing that is undisputable is that God Almighty loves all He created and wishes that His Children should be joyful and in good health. He never wants anybody to suffer or perish. Thus, He made everything available to ensure we are not in pain or want. When He created man, He put him in the Garden of Eden, where everything he needed to be happy was made available to him. And when man derailed from the course of life, God sent His only Son Jesus Christ to die for our iniquities in order to bring us back to what He expected us to be. (Jn 10: 10b says, “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”)

From creation till date, God has not closed His eye from seeing the joy of His Children. Any time man faces challenges that seem insurmountable; God will always come to his rescue. In the days His people were subjected to oppression in the land of Egypt, they cried unto the Him and He heard them and because He was mindful of their situation, He intervened and delivered them.

Exodus 3:7-8, “And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows; 8 And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites”

At the above set time, the Children of God called upon God and He heard their cry, saw their oppression and delivered them. At that time, whether the Egyptians like it or not, God was determined to deliver His people.

As it was in the days God saw the affliction of His people and delivered them in Egypt, so shall it be even now to us when the ominous cloud seems to have overshadowed the political and economic horizon of the country. As we call upon God today in prayer, our nation shall come alive again. I do not know what brought about the recent anxiety or how many years the enemy has subjected this nation into misery and suddenly everything looks like an insurmountable mountain. We may have lost all hope for deliverance, but today after our collective prayers our apprehension shall be turned to joy. All these worry, anxiety, misery and depression that have suffused the nation hitherto shall be a thing of the past.

Ex.1: 13-14 says, “And the Egyptians made the children of Israel to serve with rigour: 14 And they made their lives bitter with hard bondage, in mortar, and in brick, and in all manner of service in the field: all their service, wherein they made them serve, was with rigour.
