You has the power to open and close in your hands, but your eyes are not open to see that such power is in you. And if you don’t know, it is as good as not having it. The Bible says, “My people perish because they lack knowledge.”

As a believer, there are certain things you must know and practise, so that you can function at the level you are supposed to. Part of these things is to discover God for yourself. To discover God is to seek Him, acknowledge him and serve Him wholeheartedly. You can only do this by studying the scriptures. 2 Timothy 2:15 says, “Study to shew thyself approved unto God a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

When you discover God, you’ll recognise the power in you and know how to use it. You might have been binding and casting and nothing has changed because you don’t have the right knowledge. When you have the right knowledge, anytime you pray, heaven will respond to your voice. Whatever command you give, angels will carry them out. When you discover God, He’ll trust you with bigger responsibilities to handle.

A Christian, who is always offended, has not discovered God, because offence is part of the game in Christianity. The Bible says offence must come. So, when people gossip about you, put it behind you and move forward, because if you don’t, you will be focusing on the wrong things, which will distract you from taking advantage of the power in you. Let’s take a look at Hannah’s story in the Bible in 1 Samuel 1:20. Hannah had come into the house of God to talk to Him, but because she was talking in low voice, the prophet thought she was drunk and spoke to her rudely. But Hannah was not offended; instead, she responded in a good way. She refused to get offended or angry, and the prophet told her that God would grant her request. So, Hannah got her miracle. If it were to be some people, they would get angry and might even abuse the man of God for distracting them from focusing on the important matter. When you know that the power to open and close is in your hands, you’ll know how to use it, and God will trust you with more responsibilities. More responsibilities call for increased grace, which stops disgrace, and you’ll begin to enjoy open heaven in every area of life.
