Ecclesiastes 9:11 “I returned and saw under the sun that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill, but time and chance happeneth to them all.”

The God of the Bible is a God of order. God hates disorder, as everything He does is structured in perfect, sequential order. Order is the perfect arrangement of things, situations, and settings. Everything God created was created in perfect order and ecological balance.

Because God is a God of order, He operates sequentially, where everything in His dealing with us, is turn by turn. Because His pendulum is always swinging, He allows everyone to have their own turn and chance. And the scripture declares emphatically that everyone will always have a golden time and chance. So in life, everyone will always have a golden opportunity to do something to appropriate time and chance for historical exploits and impacts. The tragedy in life is for anyone to miss a golden chance, a Divine timing, where an individual is expected to make a positive history, through a golden chance. There are those in life who are negative with a golden chance, while others were positive with a golden chance. David came to limelight, when his golden chance to slay Goliath was well appropriated. Esau had a golden chance of being in the Messianic lineage. He exchanged his golden chance for just one bowl of porridge.

The convicted thieves/robbers had a golden chance. One of them recognised that Divine moment and appealed to the Saviour for eternal salvation and he got it just like that, without going through water baptism and other ordinances. Lot’s wife had a golden chance, but she lost by looking back and became a pillar of salt. In life, God will always present you with a golden chance. What you do with that golden chance determines the critical history of our lives. The Jews were indicted for not recognising the day of God’s visitation. But Bartimeus recognised his golden moment, when JESUS came to Jericho. He cried out the more because he will not let that golden moment slip by.

He got JESUS’ intervention, as he maximised and appropriated his golden moment. Jacob recognised his chance and wrestled with God and declared that he would not let God go. If some political leaders, clergymen, decision-makers, etc., know they have only one golden Term to serve, they would probably have performed better. There is the brevity of time and life and as such, a golden chance/opportunity must never be missed or misappropriated. In the beginning, Adam and Eve had a golden moment to obey God, but they lost it and mankind suffered until JESUS came to redeem us. The price for our total emancipation has been paid. Today, we all have the golden opportunity and chance to receive eternal life by making JESUS the LORD of our life. There are those who have wasted time and chance. May we never reenact negative history but maximise our divine time and chance. Under the New Covenant, God Almighty gives us many chances in CHRIST JESUS. If you have failed in the past, God will give you Golden Chances to succeed. Failure is a starting point for success. By the Power of the Holy Spirit, you will not miss your Golden Chances.

PRAYER: Father God, I thank You for the privilege of giving me Golden Moments and Chances. I ask in the Mighty Name of JESUS to help me maximise and appropriate my Golden Moments and Opportunities. Help me LORD not to waste my Golden Moments and Opportunities in JESUS Mighty Name. Amen.
