All roads shall lead to Ibru Centre, Agbarha-Otor, Delta State from November 21 to 24 for the second theological conference of Church of Nigeria holding there. Notably, the first conference was held in 2015. We thank God for its great harvest.

Interestingly, the Primate of All Nigeria, Most Rev. Nicholas D. Okoh and some of his brother Bishops will be in attendance to participate and rob minds with theological teachers and students as they do their work in different Theological Centres, Church institutions, congregations to ensure that they are complying to the Biblical demands of the gospel.

Undeniably, some erroneous teachings are going on to the effect that if they are not checked they will pollute the faith of people of God. Through sound Theological Teaching and formation such dangerous trend will be nipped in the bud. More so, the writer of the letter of Jude calls upon believers everywhere including Church of Nigeria to contend for the faith.

Therefore, the Theological Conference holding at Ibru Centre has its theme as: “Ethical issues and family life in African and Biblical perspectives.” The conference is being organised on behalf of the Church by Crowther graduate Theological Seminary, Abeokuta. The Rector of the institution, a Professor of New Testament Theology, Rt. Rev. Andrew Igenoza ably assisted by Ven. Moses Adetumbi promises a good outing. Africa is the cradle of both civilisation and authentic Christianity. So, through its lenses people are to be re-oriented on the need for family values such that will prepare them for the kingdom of God.

We thank God for the spread of the conference and particularly as these Theological Schools will be in attendance: Crowther Graduate Theological Seminary, Abeokuta, Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo, Trinity Theology College, Umuahia, Immanuel College of Theology, Ibadan, Theological College of Northern Nigeria, Bukuru, Vining College of Theology, Akure, St. Paul’s University, Awka, Ezekiel College, of Theology, Ekpoma and Okene College of Theology, among others.

Eminent scholars will deliver some lead papers at the conference. There shall be time for Holy Communion services to give spiritual impetus to the delegates.

Indeed, no time is better than now for theological conference of such a magnitude to hold, as this will help people not to drink from Ecclesiastical debris. People are hungry about right attitude in family life, they should not be left to their fate, the Bible is there to guide and this conference will help to show the way. While we wish safe arrival to all delegates to the conference, we equally wish them good and fruitful deliberations: Shalom!
