Luke 2:10-11 “And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for behold, I BRING YOU GOOD TIDINGS OF GREAT JOY, which SHALL BE TO ALL PEOPLE. For UNTO YOU is born this day in the city of David A SAVIOUR, which is CHRIST the LORD.”

IT is amazing how people of different ages, cultures and civilisation see Christmas. At an interactive session in our Church, the children were asked about their understanding of what Christmas is? Three of the children said, ‘Christmas is the time that God has decided never to be silent in His relationship with mankind.’ The second one said, ‘it is the time we celebrate the birth of Jesus, the Saviour and Redeemer of mankind.’ The third one said, ‘Christmas is the time that God chose to become man; left His Glory in Heaven and was incarnated in the flesh to redeem each one of us from our sins through His sacrificial death.’

Of course, the statements of these three children are true. We need to realise that Christmas is not the time reserved only for shopping, commercialisation and acts that are not connected with the celebration of the incarnated Christ. At Christmas, GOD BECAME MAN to redeem mankind from their sins. Man has been held captive by His own sinful nature. The blood of any of the fallen Adam was sinful and could not atone for the sins of mankind. That, which is born of the flesh is flesh. The Spotless, Sinless and Precious blood of JESUS is the Only One that is efficacious and potent to provide redemption for the sinful man. And God’s love made Jesus to be incarnated in the flesh to pay the ransom for our sins. John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life”.

At Christmas, we must receive the Good News and identify with the REAL and THE CENTRAL PERSON OF CHRISTMAS – Jesus, the Lamb of God. We must identify with the Saviour, Christ and LORD of Christmas. We implore you at this Christmas to make Jesus, the Saviour of your life, the central figure and LORD of your life. We pray that the blessings of JESUS, the Christ, the Saviour and LORD will be your portion this Christmas.

PRAYER: Father God, thank You for sending Jesus to this world to die in my place. I identify with Him, the Messiah, the Saviour and LORD of mankind. At this Christmas Season, I make Jesus, the LORD of my life and I receive His Holy Blood for the remission of my sins. I am redeemed by the BLOOD of JESUS.
