Welcome to a new week! I pray that the reality of what you are about to read will be evident in your life in unmistakable terms.

The blessing of overflow can be likened to be the ‘signature of God.’ There are events that happen in a man’s life, which cannot be mistaken for mere acts of man — such events make God’s intervention obvious and give undeniable proof that He alone deserves all the glory. At such times, it becomes easy for man to give full glory to God, because He does things that make it abundantly clear that He (God) is not a man. The overflow is the display of his splendour, a showcase of His capacity to do “far too much.”

The overflow is God’s desire for us. One of the instructions God gave us as Christians is to let our lights so shine before all men that they may see our good works and glorify our Father, which is in heaven, the reality of the overflow helps to make that scripture tangible. The truth is that as you begin to walk in the blessing of overflow, it will be easy for everyone to SEE God at work and glorify Him on your behalf.

Below are two examples of individuals in the Bible, who enjoyed the reality of an overflow: The blessing that defied famine – Isaac’s experience
Isaac was a man, who lived in a foreign country, where there was famine. As a covenant child, God favoured Him and he experienced the blessing of overflow.

“And there was a famine in the land, beside the first famine that was in the days of Abraham… Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year a hundredfold: and the Lord blessed him. And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great… And Abimelech said unto Isaac, Go from us; for thou art much mightier than we.” Genesis 26: 1-33

The manifestation over his life was so inexplicable that the Philistines envied him. God’s covenant is greater than the climate or the economic condition of any nation. He is able to cause you to produce fruits in such overflowing measures that you will experience enviable results like Isaac.

Spoils of War – Jehoshaphat’s example In 2 Chronicles 20:1-25, we have another fascinating example of God’s blessing of overflow at work in the midst of a challenge. Jehoshaphat was in a situation. Three strong nations had joined forces to challenge him to war. He was overwhelmed and had to turn to God in desperation. As they began to sing praises to God, He miraculously intervened and the enemies helped to destroy one another. But God was not done; as He was determined to show that He is more than enough. He gave them the overflow, to show His unmistakable glory. In verses 24-25, the Israelites came over to look at the fallen bodies of the enemies and take away the spoil of war- it took them three days to gather the spoils of three great nations.

I pray that this season, God will give you creative ideas and multiple fold opportunities to express the skills and talents He has deposited in your life. As He showers you with uncommon favour, you will walk in the reality of His overflow. He is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). He is the God of the overflow.
