Omole Branch Of El-Shaddai Church Holds Christmas Carol
THE El-Shaddai Bible Church, Mercy Cathedral in Omole Estate, Phase 2, at the weekend, organised Christmas carol hymns and songs, to commemorate the birth of Christ.
The carol, with the theme: “More than Music,” witnessed a potpourri of spiritual activities, recitation of the origin of each of the carol hymns, including dance presentations, comedy, choir, violin and cultural ministrations.
According to the Chief Host, Charismatic Cardinal Olanrewaju Obembe, it is necessary for Nigerians to embrace Christ and live according to His precepts, “having seen us through tough times, especially the election period.”
Host Pastor, Emmanuel Godfrey noted that the carol is an inspiration initiated by God.
“It is not just the conventional carol songs you listen to. This is the first version of this kind of carol service, bringing the cultural and spiritual dimensions together. And it has come to stay. We are heralding the birth of Jesus Christ, Who is the Saviour of the world and every wise man and woman that lived when He was born; God orchestrated his or her steps towards Jesus Christ, identifying with Him. And so everyone should celebrate the birth of Jesus beyond basking in the euphoria of the season or over-commercialising the season,” he said.
Noting that it is necessary that people understand the essence of the season, Pastor Godfrey said: “It is not just to buy new clothes and go to parties, but to commemorate the birth of Jesus without which there is no salvation and without salvation, man is doomed.”
