MCN installs Dr. Isaac Ayobami Olawuyi as Archbishop

Former Bishop, Diocese of Lagos West, Mainland, Dr. Isaac Ayobami Olawuyi, who was elevated to the position of Archbishop, last week, has promised to take Methodist Church Nigeria to the highest level.

Former Bishop, Diocese of Lagos West, Mainland, Dr. Isaac Ayobami Olawuyi, who was elevated to the position of Archbishop, last week, has promised to take Methodist Church Nigeria to the highest level.

At the ceremony in Lagos, the newly installed Archbishop, His Grace, The Most Revd Dr. lsaac Ayobami Olawuyi, who is a PhD holder solicited full support and cooperation of the church.

In his sermon at the formal Installation and introduction ceremony, the Bishop, Diocese of Ereko Lagos, Methodist Church Nigeria, Rt. Revd Joshua Olukayode Adeogun, called for a synergy between the led and the government, so that there could be trust and understanding for peaceful coexistence.

Quoting copiously from the scriptures, the cleric warned Nigerian leaders, as well as religious leaders to rule in the fear of God. He also charged Christians and by extension Nigerians to fervently pray for those in authority, so they can have peace.

Archbishop Olawuyi’s journey started as a Presbyter at Ereko Circuit Lagos, translating to the Yaba Hoares Memorial Cathedral, where he later became the pioneer/founding Bishop, Diocese of Lagos West, Palm Avenue Mushin, Lagos. Subsequently, he was taken back to the Diocese of the Lagos Mainland, before his recent elevation and consecration as the new Archbishop of Lagos.

Similarly, the immediate past Lay President, Diocese of Lagos, Sir Peter Olorunfemi KJW was appointed Lagos Archdiocesan, Lay President-elect, while Sir Gbolahan Olayomi is the new Lagos Diocesan Lay President-elect, and he will be duly supported by the Diocesan Synod Secretary, Very Revd John Olanrewaju Solubi, The Presbyter Wesley Cathedral, Olowogbowo, Lagos.
