Eph 1:3 says, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.”

EVERY child of God should know that God has bestowed upon him or her all the spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. By adoption, we become members of God’s family and as such, every believer is treated as sons and daughters.

And as such, they are entitled to all the privileges of the Kingdom. Having at their disposal through the Redeemer, all the power to change their situations and even tread upon enemies and nothing shall ever hurt them.

Unfortunately, however, many Christians are suffering in pain, fear, defeat and lack, just because they lack the knowledge of who they are in Christ.

Some are tossed about by every wind of doctrine, without being firm in their resolve to serve God wholeheartedly. Those, who claim to be Christians but have no godly doctrines, characters and faith, are strangers in God’s covenant of peace and blessings, regardless of what their positions may be in the Church or society.

And the consequence of being an alien in the commonwealth of Israel is that you have been stripped of all rights and privileges in the Lord and are, therefore, damned. Some people, who claimed to be Christians and yet submit to the guidance of false teachers, are not God’s friends but enemies.

So, what is a Christian in this world without a promise? A traveller to eternity without grounded hope! An acclaimed child of God without God to confide in, no sacrifice, no worship, no hope, no fear of what God hates, no love for what God loves! What is a Christian in this world, if he owns everything but has nothing? This is the unfortunate situation of those, whose Christian lives are not rooted in holiness and righteousness of the Lord.

They bear names such as James, Mary and Peter, but their names are not recognised by heaven and thus have no inheritance in the things of God.

They may claim to be Christians, yet they are strangers. Luke 16:13 says, “No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other.

Ye cannot serve God and mammon” To be a good Christian, therefore, is to be grounded in faith and in the knowledge of God. It is this assurance that can make one to boast of having inheritance in the commonwealth established by God Almighty.

A successful attorney is one, who knows the law, so also a good Christian is one, who is grounded in the word. A man, who forms his religious principles by chance, can un-form them in the same way.

Such is the state of any Christian who lives a carefree life, a life without recourse to His Creator. Beloved, if you are a Christian, be one indeed.

Let people know where you belong by not only your attitude in the closet, but also in the open. And the only identification is by preaching the gospel in and out of season, for so the Apostles were doing in Antioch, when they were called Christians.

We are recovered from sin to God, and therefore, should show the reality of our change, by living a holy and righteous life.
