God’s waiting room – Part 2

One of the most difficult things to do is to sit in God’s waiting room. This is when it seems all hope is lost, and you’ve lost control of events.

One of the most difficult things to do is to sit in God’s waiting room. This is when it seems all hope is lost, and you’ve lost control of events. It is a period you hear myriad of voices competing against the promises of God. In the waiting room, you will hear voices that doubt God’s ability to fulfil what He Has promised to you.

Beware of the voice of Sarah, while you are in God’s waiting room. As the year is coming to an end, you may be hearing myriad of voices contradicting what God Has spoken. It may seem to you that God’s promises are not yet fulfilled. God promised Abraham a child at the age of 75 (Genesis 15:4). While Abraham was waiting for the fulfilment of the promise of God, Sarah offered him an illegitimate alternative to go into her maidservant and sleep with her. Abraham heeded Sarah’s voice and the maidservant, Hagar conceived a child.

When in the God’s waiting room, the Devil will be making suggestions to you that sound nice, but don’t heed his voice – beware of the voice of Sarah. Every alternative is not legitimate for you to harness. God will hold you accountable for heeding the voice of Sarah.

Don’t draw a conclusion about your situation while in God’s waiting room. Sarah drew a conclusion about her situation of not having a child. She said, “…the Lord hath restrained me from bearing…” (Genesis 16:2). Sarah concluded her case and put a period where God put a comma.

God is not a latecomer and He is always on time. The problem of this generation is microwave Christian mentality. The Bible says a thousand years are like a day in God’s eyes (2 Peter 3:8).

What do you do while in God’s Waiting Room?
• Waver not in believing God’s Promise: To waver is to become weak in faith. Bible said Abraham never wavered in believing God’s promise (Romans 4:20). While in God’s waiting room, never listen to voices that come from your wife, friends, relations, social media, etc. that suggest to you ungodly alternatives.
• Let your faith grow Stronger: Faith and fear are directly proportional. If you feed on your fear, it will grow and faith will diminish. Also when you feed on your faith, fear will vanish. The Bible said Abraham’s faith grew stronger, and his faith brought glory to God (Romans 4:20). Bible also said in Romans 4:22, “And because of Abraham’s faith, God counted him as righteous. Beloved, my prayer is that God will see faith in you, despite that ugly situation you are going through, and may God count you righteous as a result of your faith.
• Even against hope, hope in God: Hope is the confident expectation of what God has promised and its strength is in His faithfulness. While Abraham was in God’s waiting room for 25 years, he had a confident expectation of what God Has promised. Bible said in Romans 4:18, “Even when there was no reason for hope, Abraham kept hoping—believing that he would become the father of many nations.”

Abraham’s faith did not weaken, even though, at about 100 years of age, he figured his body was as good as dead—and so was Sarah’s womb. Beloved, waver not at God’s promise; let your faith grow stronger than your circumstances and even against hope, have hope in God.
