Favour (4)

Ephesians 6:1-3 states; “Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honour your father and mother” – which is the first commandment with a promise “that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.”

THE children also have a role in the home regarding their parents. How do you honour your mother when you have sold yourself cheap? Some sisters even introduce their mother to people as their aunties or house-help. Remember, no matter how old or successful you are, that woman is still your mother and without her you are worth nothing. She cleaned you up and you are what you are today because of her. This kind of attitude only shows you are ungrateful. Some children are very rude to their parents; they use their parents for monetary gain. Anyone who sells her parents cheap will reap the same fruit someday. It can never be well with that child and this is not a curse. You are sowing a seed and you will reap what you have sown.

Don’t place anybody above your parents while you are still single. The day you get married, you are one with your husband. The moment your parents hand you over to your husband, they are simply handling over all their responsibility concerning you to him. Those that have gone without their parent’s blessings are reaping the seed they sowed. Parental consent is the first thing in marriage and this is why during wedding ceremony, pastors ask the question “who give this woman to this man?”

Also in Ephesians 6:4, the Bible says “Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.” The duty of the father is to help his wife to train their children. He is not to claim that when a child is good, he is the father’s but if otherwise, he is the mother’s. Do not leave the training of your children to your wife alone; you are the head of the home; so, don’t kill your “Favour.” A lot of men have lost their position to their wives in this regard. The Bible describes such men as infidels.

In 1 Timothy 5:8, the Bible says, “If anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for his immediate family, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.” Husbands are the pastors of their home even though some of them criticise their pastors in the church forgetting that these ones are the ones helping them to clean up the mess they have made in their homes. The wives are supposed to be the deaconesses. Many husbands have what can be described as “spiritual malaria,” which only afflicts them on Sundays. They drop the family in church and stay at home.

Jude 1:6 states; “And the angels who did not keep their proper domain, but left their own abode, He has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness for the judgment of the great day.” Any man that leaves his home and goes after a strange woman is in bondage, which means he has left his first estate. You have abandoned your duty and you have gone to mind what does not concern you. The Bible says such people are in everlasting chains until the Day of Judgment except they repent. Any child walking away from the parents into something that is not right has walked into bondage.

Finally, I want to say to every woman that you are good, precious, and wonderful, that your name is Favour. Any man that lays his hand on you has obtained favour from the Most High God. You should stop looking down on yourself because of the words that have been said to you. Be confident of yourself; feel wonderful because as far as God is concerned, you are a “Favour.”
