Text: Luke 18:28-30; 1 Peter 4:7
Key Verse: 2 Corinthians 5:10: “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.” (KJV)

The Bible frequently reminds us that life on earth is brief. Our earthly bodies are called “tents” (2 Peter 1:13), temporary dwelling places of our eternal souls. We are strangers, and pilgrims on earth. Our relationship with the cross of Jesus (salvation) will determine where we will spend eternity (Heaven or Hell), but for believers (saved ones) how we live here on earth will determine how we spend eternity (with rewards or regards). If that is the case, as believers everything we do ought to be done with eternity in mind. Knowing that it will affect how we live in eternity.

Eternity is your destination after life here on earth. You can only make things right here on earth before eternity. There is no repentance in eternity. In Luke 16, the rich man went to Hell and the poor Lazarus went to Heaven because of their decisions while they lived on earth. Lazarus did not go to Heaven because he was poor but simply because he decided to live for Christ here on earth.

The more you factor eternity into your life’s decision, the better life you will live. As nothing as nine months of pregnancy of a child to the years, which the child lived on earth; so as the years you lived on earth is nothing to be compared with eternity. Once you cross over, there is no remedy. Eternity is timelessness.

When eternity is planted in your heart, it will cause you to go out and evangelise to the unsaved people and encourage fellow believers to be steadfast in Faith. Because of eternity, which was planted in the heart of Paul, he conducted a spiritual check on his brethren in Thessalonica whom he had previously ministered unto. 1 Thessalonians 3:5, “For this cause (cause of eternity), when I could no longer forbear, I sent to know your faith, lest by some means the tempter have tempted you, and our labour be in vain.”

In the same vein, Paul writing to the brethren in Corinth in 2 Corinthians 11:2, “For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy (jealousy of God): for I have espoused (married) you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin (pure bride) to Christ.”

It is very unfortunate today that instead of Pastors, Church Leaders and Elders helping fellow believers in Christ to grow in Faith and pointing them only to Christ (their only Husband), they now exploit them sexually and leading them into sin.

Hell was not originally prepared for man; it was prepared for the devil and his angels. But any man who rejects Christ will go to Hell. Mathew 25:41, “Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:”

Are you making an eternal investment? Have you lost consciousness of eternity? You cannot make investment up there, if your heart is not there (Mathew 6:21). If you have treasure is in Heaven, your heart will be in Heaven. When you are conscious of eternity, it motivates you to give in support of Kingdom Project, Missions and Evangelism.

Are you rich towards God? What is your eternal worth? What is your worth in eternity? Are you leveraging on your time on earth to prepare for eternity? How much do you worth in Heaven?

Everything in this world, none of it is eternal. When we talk of eternity, we are talking of timelessness. When Peter says in 1 Peter 4:7 “the end is near,” he was essentially saying there is nothing keeping Christ back from returning at any moment.

Today’s Nugget: Eternity is Timelessness.
