1 Corinthians 1:27 “But God hath chosen the FOOLISH THINGS of the world to CONFOUND THE WISE; and God hath chosen THE WEAK THINGS of the world to confound the THINGS WHICH ARE MIGHTY”

IT is amazing how God works out His miracles in our lives. God’s ways are higher and better than ours. It is surprising how He uses the insignificant to show His Power in our situations. The Word of God declares that He uses base and weak things to nullify mighty things. God says to learn wisdom, planning, management, diligence, organisation, synergy, resource control, etc, we should study and research the lifestyle of the ANT- timing little ANT. (Proverbs 6). Biblical history is full of the engagement of insignificant things to accomplish great things. In commissioning Moses, God asked him what was in his hands. “A rod” Moses replied and with that rod, Moses performed miracles and confounded the mighty Pharaoh and Egypt.

David the shepherd boy had prepared five stones and a sling but with just one, he brought down the dreaded champion Goliath of Gath. Naaman – the Syrian General, was shocked to discover that dipping in River Jordan seven times was all he needed to get his leprosy cured. He thought some ambiguous actions would be required but it was that simple – just a wash in the River Jordan cured him. To feed 5000 families, God employed just five loaves and two fish. The woman with the issue of blood saw that just a simple touch of the Anointed One — JESUS the Messiah would cure her 12 years of hemorrhage. That was the touch of her life and the touch for total transformation. In Canaan of Galilee, at the wedding feast where they needed sweet wine, JESUS asked them to merely fill the pots with ordinary water and it became the best wine ever. To pay off taxes and debts, JESUS told Peter to go and fish and the first fish caught, carried the required amount to pay the debts. That is ridiculous.

A fish, being a Bank? Contrary to Moses’ expectation, God just caused His wind to blow and the Israelites were sustained with delicious protein. Numbers 11:31 “AND THERE WENT FORTH A WIND FROM THE LORD, and brought quails from the sea, and let them fall by the camp; as it were a day’s journey on this side, and as it were a day’s journey on the other side; round about the camp, and as it were two cubits high upon the face of the earth”. Throughout the Scripture, we see how God uses the insignificant, the ridiculous to work out the miraculous. JESUS was born in a manger, not in the palace. For the wall of Jericho to come down, God asked His people to merely shout. That is ridiculous. With the Jawbone of an ass, Samson slew one thousand Philistines.

The Gideon army was reduced from 30,000 to 300 and with the blast of the trumpet; God’s people defeated the formidable Midianites. God uses the ridiculous to do the miraculous. For a man to receive his sight, God used mud and asked him to go and wash in the Siloam pool (John 9:7). When you have needs, God says make your need a seed that you sow. God tells the barren woman to start singing and rejoicing. God tells the “weak” to say, “I am strong”. God says in your needs give out, pray when you are in difficulty, praise when you need miracles, etc. It is time for you to do simple things that are ridiculous to experience the miraculous.

PRAYER: Father God, I thank You for Your simple ways of doing things. Father, You are not ambiguous or complicated. I simply accept Your plans and methods for getting results in my life. I make JESUS the LORD of my life and embrace Your rulership in my life.
