Your Tongue As A Secret Weapon
There are many principles that make things work in life, just as there are different principles that work in the school of divine protection. In our previous editions, we explored two covenant weapons – faith and the blood of Jesus. We will now examine the tongue as a secret weapon.

The law of the tongue is another principle that grants us access into the joy of divine protection. Idle words can kill. The words of today are the harvest of tomorrow. Today is a sum total of many things we said in the past or may be things we refused to say. Our tongue creates our world. In the school of divine protection, our tongue plays a major role. As we clearly see in Proverbs 18:20-21: “A man’s belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled. Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.”

Death and life are in the power of the tongue, so our tongue has incredible power. The scripture did not say death and life is in the power of the devil. No! It’s in our tongue. More often than not, it is our tongue that gives the devil a pathway to our affairs. He that opens wide his mouth seeketh destruction. We can’t afford to utter careless words about our life. Words are seeds. Anyone, who is not ready to tame his/her tongue by the Spirit, is not ready for total protection. If such a person keeps talking death, calamity, accidents etc., then it will not be the fault of ‘death’ to take a hold of him/her.

The question then is what have you been saying? Many of us need to repent of evil speaking and wrong confessions. The words we speak are seeds awaiting harvest. Do not kill yourself with your tongue. Learn to speak like David, ‘I shall not die but live to declare the works of the Lord (Psalm 118:17).

In the book of Genesis, the earth was without form and void, and darkness was on the face of the deep, and God said: ‘Let there be light.’ God was not complaining, He was not speaking the circumstance, He spoke the promise, and He spoke what He wanted. Do you speak the circumstance, or do you speak the promise? Speak God’s provision of divine protection everywhere and you will experience a harvest of divine protection. Everything God said in Genesis 1, He eventually saw.

Friend, you will eventually ‘see’ the things you are saying today. Death and life are in the power of the tongue. Here are some scriptures to make good confessions with; (Psalm 91: 10-12) “The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe” (Proverbs 18:10)“A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked” (Psalm 91:7-8)
“With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation” (Psalm 91:16).

“The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil;’ he shall preserve thy soul. The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore” (Psalm 121:7-8)

As you go out this week, use your tongue as an instrument of favour not destruction!
See you next week!
