Throughout the Old Testament, kings first of all sent messengers to their opponents before engaging in physical combat. These messengers were skilled in striking fear into the hearts of men. The king of Assyria employed Rabshakeh. He stood outside the walls of the city:

And Rabshakeh stood, and cried with a loud voice in the Jews’ language…let not Hezekiah deceive you: for he shall not be able to deliver you…hath any of the gods of the nations delivered his land out of the hand of the king of Assyria?…who…among all of the gods of these lands, that have delivered their land out of my hand. (Isa.36: 13 14, 18, 19, 20). He added: “And am I now come up without the Lord against this land to destroy it? The LORD said unto me. Go up against this land and destroy it.” (Isa.36: 10).

What did Hezekiah do about it? He employed Isaiah the prophet, who also released words of prophecy into the atmosphere nullifying the words of Rabshakeh and replacing them with words of victory. (See Isaiah 37:6-7, Isaiah 37:9-14 and Isaiah 37:21-38). The end result was the destruction of the entire Assyrian army and the death of the king of Assyria.

Absalom employed Ahithophel to defeat his father king David. Meanwhile, David employed Hushai the Archite to defeat the counsel of Ahithophel. (2Sam. 15: 34). This was also a contest of words. As you engage yourself in prayer and fasting for the opening of closed doors, to bring men into encounters with God, to promote revival in the Body of Christ, to extend God’s kingdom through spiritual warfare, to release the prophetic destiny of nations, cities, churches, families, and individuals and to establish total restoration of apostolic signs, wonders and power, may you also be vigilant to swiftly deal with any negative words that proceed from your mouth or from those around you and within your locality.

Your Words Open Up Either The Gates Of Heaven Or Gates Of Hell
Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof (Pro. 18:21). A man shall eat good by the fruit if his mouth…He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life. (Pro. 13: 2-3).

Your tongue is one member in your body that can open the gates of hell instantly to work against you. James tells us that the tongue is set on fire of hell. (James 3: 16). So, the tongue has a direct link to hell, when you use it the wrong way. In fact, God equated negative minded people, the fearful and unbelieving with murderers, adulterers, sorcerers and idolaters and condemns them all together to hell fire. (Rev. 21:8). Your tongue determines what type of gates operates in your life. Beloved, after praying, fasting, raising altars and dealing with principalities and powers, do not undo all your efforts by speaking loosely.

The Woman Of Shunem
This woman conceived a son in her old age miraculously, but something happened to him. And he said to his father, my head, My head. And he said to a lad, Carry him to his mother…he…brought him to his mother, he sat on her knees till noon, and then died. And she went up, and laid him on the bed of the man of God, and shut the door upon him, and went out. (2 Kings 4:19-21).

Take note that when her child died on her laps, she did not scream hysterically, get all emotional and throw a fit. But calmly and totally in control of herself, she carried that dead corpse and laid it on the bed of the man of God, in the room they had prepared specially for Elisha. Then she shut the door. I perceive she believed God for a miracle. (2 Kings 4:22). She did not throw a tantrum before her husband. In fact, she did not even show any sign that anything ill had occurred. She did not let the cat out of the bag. I also perceive that she knew that the faith of her husband would not be able to contain the situation. There are certain crises you face in life that you need not tell everybody about. They will project more fear and doubt to the matter. They will open the gates of hell and energise demonic forces to send you even quicker to your grave. (2 Kings 4:23).

Can you do that? Can you speak life and faith even in the face of death? It is not enough to pray and fast. After you have done all of that and the situation still looks bleak, speak the word of faith and life. Never accept defeat. Never confess defeat.

As she got near where the man of God was, he sent Gehazi his servant to ask her three heart searching questions: …Say unto her, Is it well with thee? Is it well with thy husband? Is it well with the child? And she answered, It is well. (2 Kings 4:26).What outrageous and extravagant faith! And by this type of outrageous, extravagant faith, that dead child sneezed seven times and came back to life. This is the type of faith you must add to your prayer life.

There is an amazing Scripture recorded
And the inhabitant shall not say, I am sick. (Isaiah 33:24a). KJV
And the men of Zion will not say, I am ill. (Isaiah 33:24a). B.B.E
No one living in Zion will say, “I am ill”. (Isaiah 33:24a). NIV

Zion represents the Church. No one that names the Name of Christ should open his mouth to confess he is sick. Let the weak say, “I am strong.” (Joel 3: 10). God does not want you and I to confess negatively. Even in the face of challenges, confess the positive.
