Avoiding unnecessary conflict
You can’t afford to continue to entertain whatever is capable of distracting you from your set goals, if you want to live a life of excellence. Most average people get themselves exhausted in unnecessary conflict and petty fight; they burn their ‘fuel’ on unprofitable journey.
You have to avoid wasting your ammunition on petty fights or battles that are without spoil. You can’t continue to play into the hand of your adversary, by being distracted from your major by your minor. Why must you continue in a fight that has no spoil; it’s a waste of time and resources.
“In all labor there is profit, But idle chatter leads only to poverty”. Proverbs 14:23NKJV .Make sure your resources and time are being invested into profitable ‘fight’. Focus is one of the greatest assets of successful people. If you are going to be successful, you can’t afford to trade your focus for unnecessary conflict in life (even in the market place).
You will always come across people who feel certain way about you as you pursue your dreams. Remain focus on your pursuit and stop trying to change how people feel about you- it’s a fight you might never win. Some people may never change their opinion of you, no matter what you do or didn’t do. Stop trying to win everybody to your side. It’s a project you might never finish.
“Now Eliab his oldest brother heard when he spoke to the men; and Eliab’s anger was aroused against David, and he said, “Why did you come down here? And with whom have you left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know your pride and the insolence of your heart, for you have come down to see the battle. And David said, “What have I done now? Is[a] there not a cause? Then he turned from him toward another and said the same thing; and these people answered him as the first ones did.” (1 SAM 17:28-30)NKJV
David did not allow contrary opinions distract him from his mission (confronting Goliath). He shunned every comment that can distract him (not minding the source) and focused on his target. Even the blind Bartimaeus did not reply all the side comments; he was just focused on his pursuit. (Mark 10). When he received his healing, all the side commentators joined to celebrate with him. Stop taking every comment too serious, so that you can maintain your focus. Every front-liner in the market place has at one time or the other avoid petty fights and battles without spoil. As you remain focus on the real competition in the market place, you will emerge a winner. I pray that God will give you wisdom for discernment to know profitable battles.
