Both Job and Joseph refused to allow their problems take them away from God’s presence.

Bible

Both Job and Joseph refused to allow their problems take them away from God’s presence. Job lost his wealth, his possessions, and his children and suffered a major attack on his health, yet he still continued to serve God and did not allow his defeat to defeat him. Joseph was sold into slavery but did not turn away from God. He did not allow temporary pleasure to make him miss the joy of salvation and he refused to sleep with his master’s wife. And though he was sentenced to prison, he still had the fear of God operating in him.

You may be going through a very difficult situation right now and may be asking yourself if God can still turn your defeat into victory, despite your circumstances or terrible sin. In Psalm 30: 10-11, David said, “Hear, O Lord, and have mercy on me; Lord, be my helper! You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; you have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness.” David speaks here as if God personally took off his sackcloth but in fact, God caused David to take them off himself, simply by hearkening to his prayer. David cried out to God and God heard him.

Sickness, infirmity, and death are all in Satan’s power. Maybe the problems you are going through now are a consequence of the wrong you may have done in the past. The Bible tells us that there are seedtime and harvest time and you may be paying for past sins. But the agents that are responsible for your current predicament are under God’s control and so there is still hope for you if you turn to God. To get God to step into your situation, you need to report back to His laboratory for examination. Jeremiah 18:6 states “O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter?” says the Lord. “Look as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are you in My hand, O house of Israel.” Just like a person that has been badly disfigured can be made whole again by a good plastic surgeon, so God too can transform you. God is a perfect God and He can make you perfect again, but first you must report to His clinic and allow Him to make the necessary changes and corrections in your life.

Deliverance is something that you must desire by yourself, it cannot be forced on you by anyone. You must choose to yield yourself to God and be ready to change from your sinful ways and go through fire in the hand of the potter. Raw gold is not pleasing to the eye, but by the time it goes through fire and has been refined, it becomes very attractive. You have to be ready to go through the pain of correction, if you want to be made whole again.
