THE Vicar of St. Timothy’s Church, Sango-Ota, Ogun State, Awori Diocese of the Anglican Communion, The Reverend Canon B.B Fawole, was inducted as the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Chapter recently.

The event took place at Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), Ota, Ogun State.

In his acceptance speech, Revd. Canon Fawole said he would takeoff from where the immediate past executives had stopped, stressing that he would ensure that CAN remains united.

Speaking on the theme of the induction ceremony, One Spirit, One Body, One Christ, the Ogun State CAN Chairman, Revd. Timothy Ajibola, urged every Christian to see one another as one regardless of the denomination.

The Ogun State CAN Chairman urged Nigerians to unite and fight the many ills bedeviling the country, including terrorism, especially the menace, which now cuts across religion or political affiliation.

He called on Christians to join politics, expressing confidence of a better Nigeria, where insurgency, corruption, kidnapping and rigging during elections would be things of the past.

The Rt. Revd. Johnson Akin-Atere, Bishop of the Diocese of Awori Anglican Communion, in his goodwill message stressed the need for CAN, as a body, to have a forum, where all political aspirants would interact with the Christian leaders and unveil their plans for the people, adding that this will enable Christians to determine who to vote for.
