Damasus is a woman of many talents – an actress, dancer, singer, teacher, presenter, producer, business woman and humanitarian.

Damasus co-founded Index Two Studios, a production company set up to redefine standards of motion picture industry in Nigeria. Index Two Studios has conducted free training on filmmaking in Cameroon, produced a short film on cancer and a feature length film to-be released and titled Unspoken and is currently working on a Web Series titled ‘Mix Match’ in New York City.

Damasus started her humanitarian efforts because she hates to see people live in poverty or suffer, and she feels the need to use her voice to speak up for people who cannot. In order to alleviate the suffering of the less privileged and help create a better future for others, she set up the Stella Damasus Arts (SDA) Foundation, a not-for profit organization to provide economic, intellectual and emotional support to society, using the arts as its primary tool. Her foundation launched its Free Arts Training Programme, and opened its doors to first set of students on May 16, 2011.

Damasus also works with Project Alert to fight against domestic violence; she is ambassador for Women4africa, has worked with WFP (World Food Programme) to help the people of Liberia. She is a supporter of Lamboginny Say No to Crime and was recently made ambassador for NDLEA (Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency). She has also worked with an organization in Cameroon that supports cancer patients and she is also working with the Lupus Healthcare Foundation in the U.K.

Damasus’s zeal to fight for the rights of women and young girls around the world led her to create a mentorship programme called ADIVA which helps women and young girls unlock their potentials using God’s word and principles thus becoming the best they can ever be. With the ADIVA Mentoring Programme, the screen diva has had two successful meetings in Abuja, Nigeria.

This same zeal for women and young girls also led her to make a video regarding the issue of legalising Child Marriage in Nigeria which in turn led to her invitation to Aljazeera Network ‘The Stream’ for a live discussion with Senator Yerima. She also recently released a video on October 11, 2013 on the occasion of International Day of the Girl Child.
