FUTO gets new VC

Members of the 10th Governing Council of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO), have approved and appointed Prof. Francis Eze as the new Vice Chancellor of the school.

Members of the 10th Governing Council of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO), have approved and appointed Prof. Francis Eze as the new Vice Chancellor of the school.

Before his elevation, Eze, who is expected to take over from incumbent, Prof. Chigozie Cyril Asiabaka, in June 18, has been the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration).

Confirming this to Campusnews in a telephone chat, Deputy Registrar, Publications/ Information, Mr. Chike Ezenwa, said: “Prof. Francis Chukwuemeka Eze has been confirmed by the Governing Council of FUTO as the Vice Chancellor. He will takeover in June from Prof. Chigozie Asiabaka.”

According to Ezenwa, Eze joined the services of the institution in 1990 as a lecturer and rose to the rank of Professor in 2003.
