Federal Polytechnic Bida graduates 28,000 students
Federal Polytechnic Bida, yesterday, graduated 28,000 students with various grades of National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) certificates.
The Rector, Dr. Abubakar Abdul Dzukogi, who spoke at a media briefing to herald the 14th combined convocation of the polytechnic, disclosed that 995 of the graduating students bagged distinctions.
Dzukogi said the joint convocation ceremony is for students who graduated from the institution between 2008-2015.
He called on government and the various regulatory agencies concerned to remove the dichotomy that exists between HND holders and university graduates, saying that such gap is discouraging and negatively affecting the economy.
Describing the dichotomy as unnecessary, Dzukogi revealed that in developed economies like the United Kingdom, the United States of America, HND graduates drive the economy, and called government to emulate them to move the nation’s technology and economy forward
Prof. Ibrahim Kolo delivered the convocation lecture.
