Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secrets unto His servants, the prophets.” Amos 3:7.

The Weightiness Of Dreams
EZEKIEL was amongst the captives in the land of the Chaldeans (Ezekiel 1:1-3), yet he was taken in a vision into the temple in Jerusalem (Ezekiel 8). He was amazed at the abominations taking place inside God’s house, hidden behind the scenes.

Outwardly, the temple worship appeared most dignified. But in the spirit, Ezekiel witnessed idolatry of the highest order.

The next thing he saw was God’s judgment falling upon the ancient men in God’s house (Ezekiel 9:6). He saw himself specifically prophesying against Pelatiah, one of the ringleaders in the evil taking place in the house of God (Ezekiel 11:13). As he prophesied, Pelatiah fell down dead. All these he saw in the spirit.

Ezekiel was seeing another church taking place inside the church. He saw another meeting that used to take place, when the regular church meetings had dismissed.

These diabolic meetings were having an adverse effect on the entire land. But the moment Ezekiel was permitted to see it in the spirit, God acted and judgment fell. Ezekiel was not there physically in the temple, but his spirit was taken there and all what he saw was real.

Dreams take us into a place of revealed truths. Dreams reveal to us in the spirit what the natural man cannot know or comprehend. Daniel by dreams was able to reveal line by line to Nebuchadnezzar what was going to happen to their nation. He was also able to advise the King.

In Daniel chapter four, Nebuchadnezzar had another dream of which Daniel gave precise interpretation, advice and counsel to the King as regards his life and the throne.

To the end of the book of Daniel, God spoke to Daniel in a series of what he called NIGHT VISIONS. He saw that which was many years ahead of his time. Daniel saw by dreams and visions into our present age and beyond to the reign of Jesus Christ and His eternal kingdom.

Lack of revelational knowledge leaves us open to destruction and setbacks. Isaiah 5:13. It is very dangerous to be void of revelational knowledge. Our dream life is God’s first avenue of entrance into our lives with revelational knowledge.

Ask The Lord In Faith
I was never one who would really dream, NEVER. Occasionally, once in every 2 or 3 years, I would have a meaningful dream. But I began to feel a yearning in the depths of my soul for more. I began to ask in prayer for dreams and visitations. Acts 2:16-21 is a promise that God will release this dimension upon all His people in the last days, without regard to gender, age or social class. I began to ask for dreams and visions daily and sometimes even hourly. Revelation 4:1 became a favourite scripture I would quote in prayers.

Another of my favourite scriptures to pray myself into these dimensions is John 1: 51. Three things are promised here. 1. You will see. 2. Open heavens and 3. Angelic visitations.

I began to pray Acts 2, John 1:51 and Revelation 4:1 before sleeping. The next night I would pray the same thing, and every night, this went on for months with no results. Then one night I prayed, believing. I so believed that I kept a notepad and pen by my bedside to record the dream.

In the middle of the night, I awoke pressed, before getting out of my bed I realised I was in the middle of a very meaningful and powerful dream.

I had to get up and write it down immediately. I have found that the longer I go into the day without writing down a dream, the more I forget certain details. Daniel 7:1. Habakkuk 2:2 says “write the vision.”

After writing down the dream, I began to talk to God about it. I asked the Lord questions concerning the dream.

As I began to pray through the dream, I received His heart and mind, and came to know His voice. This is how you receive the gift or grace to interpret your own dreams.

When you get a dream, you are not meant to go to a friend who you believe is more spiritual or gifted than you. God gave the dream to you. He expects you to enter a journey with the Holy Spirit over that dream.

Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams (Daniel 1:17). Ask the Lord to do the same for you too. Our God is a revealer of secrets and mysteries (Daniel 2:28).

This is how you not only enter into the grace of receiving dreams, but also how you can progress into becoming an interpreter of dreams as were Daniel and Joseph.

God is speaking to men today as He did in the days of old. God is giving directions today. God is answering people’s questions today. Our duty is to write down what God is saying that we might be so directed. “Write the vision, and make it plain upon tablets, THAT HE MAY RUN THAT READETH IT.” Habakkuk 2:2.
