Proofs Bible Is Inspired cont’

• Claims of the Bible itself. Over 3,800 times, Bible writers claim God spoke what they wrote. The Bible itself claims to be the Word of God

• Secular history. Many pagan, as well as Jewish and Christian writers confirm the facts of the Bible, quoting it as being genuine, authentic, and inspired of God

• Its inexhaustible proofs. It would take many volumes to deal fully with the many thousands of facts, which confirm the Bible to be the Word of God. The book must be divine. If one will use it properly, it will confirm itself to him as the inspired Word of God
Conclusion

The whole Bible is God’s inspired Word. Because it is inspired and trustworthy, we should read it and apply it to our lives.

The Bible is our standard for testing everything else that claims to be true. It is our safeguard against false teaching and our source of guidance for how we should live. It is our only source of knowledge about how we can be saved.

God wants to show you what is true and equip you to live for Him. Read the Bible regularly to discover God’s truth and to become confident in your life and faith.

Lelwyn Hughes, of blessed memory, one of the greatest Bible expositors of our time, spent much of his life seeking to engage individuals with the Word of God. He was fully persuaded that the better our understanding of God’s Word, the deeper our relationship with the Author; and this deep relationship with the Author—the Author of life itself—gives life.

The Purpose and Goal of God in Creation
The purpose and goal of the Bible can be better understood, if we appreciate the purpose and goal of God in Creation. God had specific reasons for creating the world.

• God created the heavens and the earth as a manifestation of His glory, wisdom and power. David says, “The heavens declare the glory of God: And the firmament shows His handiwork.” (Ps 19:1; cf. Psalm 8:1)

• God created the heavens and the earth in order to receive back the glory and honour due Him.

All the elements of nature—e.g., sun and moon, trees of the forest, rain and snow, rivers and streams, hills and mountains, animals and birds—shout out praise to the God Who made them (Ps 98:7-8; 148:1-10; Isaiah 55:12). How much more God desires and expects to receive glory, honour and praise from human beings.

• God created the earth in order to provide a place where His purpose and goals for humankind might be fulfilled.

God designed humankind as a triune being (body, soul, spirit), possessing mind, emotion and will with which they can respond to Him freely with worship and serve Him as Lord out of faith, loyalty and gratitude.
