Dealing with ancestral idols

An idol is a material effigy or someone that is worshipped. It is also anything you hold in high esteem more than God. Our forefathers or even some fathers till date worshipped idols, and unknown to some of us dedicated all their children and generations unborn to those idols.

Today, many destinies, marriages, lives and even wealth have been trapped at the altars where the idols are worshipped. God forbids the worship of idols. By the act of our forefathers or fathers, generational curses now operate in the bloodline of families who worshipped idols.

“Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I am the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments” Exodus 20:5-6.

A sister suffered from series of disappointments in marriage because of the presence of a strong spirit husband. Any time a man comes to propose to her in marriage, the person will be beaten up mercilessly in his dream and wakes up with lacerations over his body. Some others were warned to leave her alone or die. Immediately this happens, the men would run away.

On two occasions, she had even sewn her wedding gown. During the deliverance session I had with her, the power of the idol of her father’s house spoke through her, that she was not only dedicated to her but also married to her. Her parents consulted the idol when they were looking for children after 11 years of marriage, the priest in the shrine where the idol was worshipped told them that the first child will be a girl, and that she will never marry because she will be the wife of the demon idol. Her parents out of desperation agreed. That was how the marital destiny of the lady was mortgaged.

The demon idol ended up becoming her spirit husband. Thanks be to God, eventually after several hours of deliverance ministration, she was totally delivered. Today she is married with children. I decree to the user of this devotional, any ancestral idol troubling your life will receive fire in Jesus name.

“Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the Lord your God” Leviticus 26:1

Ancestral idols are terrible. Many destinies, wealth and glory of families or individuals have been swallowed by these demon idols. In Judges 6:1-27, the children of Israel were living in abject poverty because they were serving the demon idol called “Baal.”

Anytime they were about to harvest their crops, the Midianites would come up like grasshoppers and destroy their harvest. It continued for years until God raised a deliverer in the person of Gideon. This young man’s destiny or greatness was trapped on the altar of the ancestral idol his parents served.

Any time he speaks he was never heard. An angel appeared to him and told him to pull down the evil altar and destroy the idol of his father’s house.

After he did that, his destiny was released and his helpers could hear his voice. 32,000 persons came but by God’s counsel, he decided to select only 300 persons from the thousands of people that volunteered to help him. They were able to defeat the large army of the Midianites with just Gideon and 300 persons.

Eventually, that was how the destiny, glory and wealth of Israel, Gideon and family that was mortgaged by the ancestral idol Baal were released. Today, may God cause your helpers to hear your voice.

• Every covenant connecting me to the idol of my father’s house in the name of Jesus, break.

• Evil dedication of my life to an idol or evil altar, in the name of Jesus break.

• Every evil platform constructed by the idol of my father’s house, in the name of Jesus, scatter by fire.

• Evil seed of idolatry in my foundation, in the name of Jesus, die.
