CWO president, priest task women on virtues, child training

President, Catholic Women Organisation (CWO), Lagos Archdioceses, Mrs. Philomena Omorodion has charged Christian women to imbibe the virtue of hospitality with a view to winning more women into God’s Kingdom.

Omorodion, who gave the advice during the CWO’s first quarterly meeting in Lagos, asked women to shun such vices as nagging, pride, hatred and laziness and put on Christ-like conduct of caring for the needy.

While commending women that have played the role of breadwinners in their homes, the CWO President, however, cautioned them to be very humble and continue to recognise their husbands as heads of the home.

She said: “I enjoin women to love and honour their husbands in every situation. Some women do not respect their husbands, especially if they are privileged to be the breadwinners. Whether they are the breadwinners or not, the Bible makes us to know that as Christ is the Head of the Church, so He has made our husbands the heads in the home.

“As women, it is mandatory for us to respect and love our husbands as well as the children, knowing that our children who would also be husbands and wives in future, are learning from our attitudes whether we know it or not.”

The Parish Priest, Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Rev. Fr. Anthony Okeke advised women to see themselves as pillars of the home and live happily, as he urged them to train their children, especially in the area of dressing.
