Text: Galatians 3:28-29
Key Verse: Galatians 3:13-14, “13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: 14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.”(KJV).

The term “covenant” is a very common one, of ordinary social, political and economic life. It is a very broad term, covering all sorts of contracts and agreements.

In the Biblical sense, a covenant implies much more than a contract or a simple agreement between two parties. A covenant is an agreement enacted between two parties in which one or both make promises under oath to perform or refrain from certain actions stipulated in advance” (Mendenhall, “Covenant,” The Anchor Yale Bible Dictionary). Most contracts have an end date, but a covenant is thought of as a permanent arrangement. Another difference is that a contract generally involves only one part of a person, such as a skill, while a covenant involves the person’s total being.

One peculiar feature of most covenants is that it specifies both rights and obligations. In other words, upon keeping to the terms/obligations under a covenant, you enjoy certain rights and privileges. When a person repents from his sinful ways and accepts Jesus as his Lord and Personal Saviour, such a person enters into a covenant relationship with God. He then becomes a beneficiary of the covenant benefits, which Jesus brokered on our behalf with God by dying on the cross.

The day you gave your life to Jesus, you broke away legally from poverty and entered into a covenant of prosperity. Redemption is a total package: Salvation, Healing, Deliverance and Prosperity. Jesus Has redeemed us from the curse of the Law, which is sin, poverty and sickness. Jesus took our curse of poverty away by becoming poor, so that through His poverty, we might be rich (2 Corinthians 8:9).

Every child of God is a covenant child. We have covenant in Christ. To enjoy a covenant cover in your finances, you must be in Christ. Galatians 3:29: “And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” We are God’s heirs and, we have legal right to prosperity. Our God is a rich God and we being His heirs by our faith in Christ have a covenant cover of prosperity.

If you are a child of God, your wealth is on a platform of oath and not just a mere promise. Good took an oath to bless you and you should be nothing less than a blessed man. Deuteronomy 8:18, “For it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.”

You must not be ignorant of this fact as a child of God that there is covenant of prosperity powering your life, which God swore to our fathers and to you as a person. The covenant of prosperity is for you to enjoy to its fullest and there is no half measure. Be mindful of this covenant and live in daily consciousness of it. What is this covenant that you should be mindful of? That God has sworn to prosper the works of your hands. Your case is different because you are a child of covenant. 1 Chronicles 16:15 says,

“Be ye mindful always of his covenant; the word which he commanded to a thousand generations.” This covenant of prosperity is not fixed for a period of time like in ordinary contract, but permanent as long as you live in Christ.

Today’s Nugget: The covenant of prosperity is not for a fixed period of time.

Prayer: I Declare, I have a covenant cover in my finances.
