“His mouth is most sweet: yea, he is altogether lovely. This is my beloved, and this is my friend, O daughters of Jerusalem” (Song of Solomon 5:16).

Jesus is altogether lovely. He is everything to us. He does not forsake or forget His own people. He loves us unconditionally. That was why He could sacrifice Himself for us on the cross of Calvary. Christ is holy and we should also be holy. Jesus is righteous and we should be righteous in all our ways. “Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows” (Hebrews 1:9). Our Saviour is faithful, true, just and patient.

When we let Jesus be our all in all, He will take the foremost position in our lives. We will choose to be a vessel that bears the name of God, throughout the universe. In fact, our spirit will be full of Christ. Colossians 3:8-10 says, “But now ye also put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him.” Apostle Paul advised us to put off our grave clothes of unrighteousness and put on the unblemished clothes of holiness and also the new life in Jesus. A believer must have a righteous identity, which manifests through a righteous attitude. The outward manifestation of such holy behaviour is a result of the inward transformation when Christ is permitted to be our all in all. Our Godly character will be the sure proof that our life has been transformed through Christ.

Jesus is all-sufficient to tackle every life issue of those who believe in Him. When Christ is your all in all, you depend on Him for wisdom and not earthly wisdom, which is bound to fail you. When you have problems as a Christian, do you seek the face of God first, or do you seek the wisdom of men? Christ has solutions to all problems of this world. “Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain” (Psalms 127:1). It may cost you prayer for revelation, and humility, to have an understanding of the sufficiency of Christ for your daily needs. Our personal lives and church lives must be centred on Christ, Who is so great that He can make the weak very strong and make the foolish very wise. Our lives must be lived on the solid foundation that Christ is our source of everything. In order to understand God’s nature, we must establish the required qualifications for fellowshipping with Christ. To have fellowship with Him, we must live like He is our everything.

To the Christian Life, Jesus is vital. At the fall, Jesus restored the lost relationship between God and man. The death of Jesus paid the debt we could never pay. Christ took the punishment, so He could build back the broken relationship between God and man. We needed this great sacrifice, so we could see light again which is God. Through fellowship with the Father, true joy is found. When we understand the importance of a relationship with God Who created us, we will find all that is missing in our lives. If you desire lasting joy, visit the source of life, which is God. We practise this truth by abstaining from sin because sin separates us from the Father. For Christ to be our all in all, we must repent from our sins and embrace the free gift the death of Christ has offered to us.
