LASU graduates 36,489, honours Dangote, Alakija, Kessington

Vice chancellor, Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo, Prof. Olanrewaju Adigun Fagbohun, has announced that the school will this year graduate 36,489 students in diploma, first and higher degree programmes.

Addressing a pre-convocation briefing for the 21st convocation of the school, Fagbohun said certificates for all the graduands are ready for collection at Exams and Records unit of the school.

The university would also confer honorary awards on three eminent Nigerians, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, Mrs. Folorunsho Alakija and Chief Adebutu Kessington for their various contributions to the country.

The Managing Director/Chief Executive, UACN Property Development Company, Mr. Hakeem Ogunniran, will on Tuesday March 21, deliver the convocation lecture titled, ‘Beyond Education: Bridging The Gap For Graduate Employability.” While on Wednesday, March 22, and Thursday 23, the Governor and Visitor of the school, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, will commission some projects for the school.

Giving a breakdown of the graduands, Fagbohun disclosed that out of the 36,489; 133 are from diploma programme; 28,300 first degrees (full and part time) and 8,056 for higher degree.

Of the 28,300 first-degree graduands, 26 had first class; 2,642 made second class upper division; 20,412 had second class lower division; 5,025 made third class, while 115 had ordinary pass degree.
